ROTATING MACHINERY

SHAFT ALIGNMENT

Incorrectly aligned shafts and the consequences of this are behind more than 50 % of all malfunctions in rotating machines. This increases unscheduled downtime and therefore production loses. This, of course, increases overall maintenance costs.

TRAINING

If you wish to deepen your knowledge, we are available to offer measurement and alignment training either on site with you, or at our well equipped training premises.

Our courses are always designed with the participants’ prior knowledge and type of operation in mind. The more you understand about measurement technology, the more use you will get out of your measurement system in your daily work. In our training you get:

  • Increased understanding of the significance of alignment to the condition of your machine and solid advice for your daily work.

  • Theoretical knowledge of laser and measuring technology, which is always mixed with practical exercises on real machines in order to simulate reality as accurately as possible.

BASIC SHAFT ALIGNMENT

Course length: 1 day

Number of participants: 8 people

Prior knowledge: None

 

COURSE AIM

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of the need for aligned machines in order to guarantee high operational reliability.

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of different alignment methods.

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of applying different alignment tolerances for centre offset and angular error.

  • Practical use of Easy-Laser® measuring instrument to align horizontally and vertically mounted machines.

  • To be able to use BTA for alignment of sheave/pulleys.

  • To be confident in the handling of the Easy-Laser® measurement instrument in daily work after completing the course.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course is intended for maintenance technicians, preventative maintenance technicians or other service personnel.
The course combines theory and practice and contains the following:

  • Laser theory.

  • Methods of shaft alignment, show centre odd setting and angle.

  • Rotating machines, why one must align.

  • Practice mounting and using the Easy-Laser® measurement instrument on horizontal and vertical machines.

  • Practice using BTA for sheave/pulley alignment.

  • Practice measuring, evaluating, adjustment.

  • Practice saving and documenting, transferring to PC.

  • Final exam.

 

 

CARDAN/SPECIAL APPLICATIONS

Course length: 1 day

Number of participants: 8 people

Prior knowledge: Basic course in shaft alignment or other user experience

 

COURSE AIM

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of special machines, for example cardan mounted.

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of different alignment methods for the above machines.

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of thermal expansion.

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of machine train applications, several couplings in line.

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of applying different alignment tolerances.

  • Practical use of the Easy-Laser® measuring instrument to align horizontally and vertically cardan mounted machines, align machine trains.

  • To be confident in the handling of the Easy-Laser® measurement instrument in daily work after completing the course.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course is intended for maintenance technicians, preventative maintenance technicians or other service personnel. The course illustrates methods for aligning cardan mounted machines.

  • Highlights different machine set ups with cardan drive.

  • Alignment of cardan mounted machines.

  • Practice mounting and using the Easy-Laser® measurement instrument on cardan mounted machines.

  • Practice combining different measurement programs for different applications.

  • Practice measuring, evaluating, adjustment.

  • Practice saving and documenting, transferring to PC.

  • Final exam.

 

 

TRAINING ON LINE BORE APPLICATION USING E 950 SYSTEM

Course length: 2 days

Number of participants: 8 people

Prior knowledge: None

 

COURSE AIM

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of typical Line Bore applications for Engines, Compressors,etc

  • To provide the participant with an understanding of different measurement/alignment methods for the above machines, of planning the work.

  • To combine different programs to solve measurement problems.

  • To be confident in the handling of the Easy-Laser® measurement instrument in daily work, to measure straightness, flatness and squareness after completing the course.
